When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be ~ Lao Tzu.  This blog aims at a simple philosophy – ‘live life less serious’ 🙂

So my friends lets exchange thoughts, inspire each other and spread the joy.You could also enrich this blog by providing a ‘Guest Post” on what you think is of interest for us to share.  And there is a space for students too to hear what they feel is important.

I thank you for coming over and participating.

Cheers! 🙂

P.S. With due humility!

  12. I do enjoy your blog the No awards please, is great. I love to blog but always find it hard to narrow down one topic. I am a great writer, and love to read books. I just think it’s not always so interesting to others that is why I do the Photo challenge with wordpress. Seems to get more attention, not sure after blogging for years. Sometimes I just want to give up blogging. Bless you~J

http://herschelian.wordpress.com/2011/05/18/a-tribute-to-my-father/. Of course I am biased, but I think he was a very special man!
I will be making my first trip to India either late this year or early next year as my daughter and her husband plus my small grandson are moving from San Francisco to live in Bangalore – we are a very spread out family nowadays, but thanks to the wonders of the internet are able to stay in close touch.

  104. In the spirit of your introduction, for some reason, I am reminded of how great it is to express ourselves without any intention of “planning a response or action beforehand”.

And so, in this spirit, my initial reaction to your words (without pre-thinking) is that I see your great intention to provide open but still profound mutual exchange of what is true, what is real, what matters. Also, I am impressed with your quite “grounded” pursuit of taking gardening to a new level, which shows how you have integrated the concrete with the non-concrete in your life. It is with gratitude that I am a follower and I look forward to reading your thoughts. ~Sonya

I honor your beliefs my friend and your outlook on life. On my own journey to date, I’ve found that my belief system seems to be of a Universal nature and I partake of the bountiful wisdom that appears everywhere in history and in present day. An excellent quote from an excellent source. Laozi – much universal wisdom I think!

    Hi Dilip
I can’t help remarking your outstanding manner of encouraging young Prakash in his journey toward becoming an effective leader. May I, therefore, suggest an additional leadership imperative of ‘an encouraging attitude’
    Cheers!

      Dear Sunder,

Positive vibes coming from you mean a lot! They ‘encourage’ me too! Yes of course young Prashant and guys like you and me who are currently in the teaching mode will do well to remember that ‘an encouraging attitude’ is an important prerequisite to effective leadership.

Thanks dear friend for the value addition,
      Dilip

    Hi Sir,

I am someone who sleepwalks though academics. I am like one of those sharks who if one turns over(if!) goes into a trance – many teachers have that affect on me! However, what I still remember, from TASMAC 2006-07 batch, is that you were one of the people who seemed genuinely interested in teaching. I could always sense positivity emanating from you. You were not one of the those who “do a job”. Always smiling, and polite(1. “…those who don’t want to participate, please don’t disturb others” 2. Please listen to others, give them respect”…all said very gently…something which I myself finding very hard to do in corporate world with my juniors).

I remember enjoying reading case studies from SM books, though didn’t take them too seriously, because I didn’t know if I will be able in a position to formulate strategies.

I met Vedant(our common friend) couple of months backs, and he mentioned this blog, and today when I stumbled across it, I can sense the same concern for your students here as well.

I will be reading through the material on your blog, and would like to interact with you.

At the very least, I will be in a good company.

    Regards,
    Prashant

My Dear Prashant a warm welcome to you after so many years!

Nice words for me my friend I do hope I deserve it. I am so glad you met my good friend Vedant. Reading the beautiful flow of your thoughts makes me feel immensely proud of you. The most important attribute about you is that you seem to have an open mind. So go ahead bash on regardless into the future.

I take a bow and say ‘Merci beaucoup’!

@ I’d like to reply your comments on ‘Strong Leadership’ which I found quite thought provoking.

Yes being a goody-goody guy certainly will not work for a leader faced with tough situations. Also cracking interviews is not enough to certify leadership potential. This is primarily because most interviewers miss out on detecting leadership traits as they may never have experienced the heat and tensions of leadership.

In SSBs we are trained to gauge leadership attributes and yet at times we do make errors of judgment 🙂 In my mind universal the virtues of courage, integrity, compassion, flexibility and last but not least humility are the imperatives a person must possess to take on leadership challenges.

Prashant I am most impressed by you for expressing your views candidly. o me you yourself seem to eminently qualify for becoming a great leader Once again my good wishes are with you always.

      Do please keep in touch.

      Cheers 🙂

Yes, I read this in Tao The Ching. Interestingly Paulo Coelho also said the same thing in one of his books, which sounds like a paraphrase of this wonderful saying.

Thank you for sharing though! Lovely day to you! 🙂
