Moksh simply means eternal bliss. To experience Moksh we need to take a break and liberate ourselves from our monotonous routine. Freak out to aΒ  quiet and serene locale and lose yourself in its stillness and calm. Listen to good music dance and/or do yoga when you feel like it. By being in gratitude meditation will happen on its own. Life is short so lets step out and capture the peace and joy.

I’ve just spent a week in a quaint little rustic place near my town. Through the pictures below I am sharing some of my Moksh moments with you.

P.S.

Some of my blogger friends whom I hold in the highest esteem wished I had shared some deeper insight on the word Moksh. Firstly I am thankful to them for feeling free to share their candid views. Well Moksh here is the name of the Retreat place where our group spent a week. Secondly I must admit I am not too much into knowledge based spirituality. My inspiration comes from the wisdom of the masters, my fellow bloggers and from our daily life.

For me Moksh is any moment that I can spend in “BLISS”. We can experience Moksh in a beautiful serene place, in the solitude of your home, when listening to music or painting and in the outdoors trekking or playing sports.

However Swami Sivananda puts it beautifully in words here:

Have a great week ahead. πŸ™‚

Moksha is a word that nobody can explain aptly, they say. Those who speak about it don’t know it and those who know it don’t speak about it!
    Beautiful pictures!

Wow Sindhu what you say is absolutely true. Moksh or bliss is futile to explain because it can only be experience within and remains within. Outwardly the person looks calm and peaceful.
Thanks for that lovely comment. πŸ‘πŸ½

Totally agree.. I too feel in commune with Him and with myself when in a quiet, serene place, away from humbug…just being. I call it my niravana moments. Sometimes these moments happen even in public transport…moments of disconnect from the external world as if travelling within. Lovely pics. Is it somewhere near Mulshi…tata’s catchment area.?

Beautiful very beautifully put! πŸ‘Œ Yes it is ideal to be in quiet serene places to quieten the mind but to be calm and disconnected even in ‘public transport’ or in a crowd is real bliss. Yes this place is Pawana Dam in Mulshi general area. πŸ˜€

Recently read an article in National Geographic according to which there is empirical data to say that exposing ourselves to doses of nature has a salutary effect on the mind and the body. Personally, I don’t need data or research to tell me that. I already know. And, I think you do too πŸ™‚

    Dear Sir

Hope you doing Great as usual !!

Wonderful topic with your personal experience. I have seen some comments which are asking you to elaborate the topic but you written crisp and depth lines, we can say “short and simple”

There are two senses of moksha:

    1) Soteriological sense, moksha connotes freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth.

    2) Psychological sense, moksha connotes freedom, self-realization and self-knowledge.

    I believe in second one.

My dear Vedant you know me so well. Even in our MBA days I relied more on real life issues and successes and failures of real companies and leaders. Text books are important but to understand the basics.

I felt very good reading your response on the intellectual and spiritual meaning of Moksh. Yes what you say is perfect and true.

My simple interpretation Of Moksh are the moments of joy and happiness which we feel and experience. This happens when we empty our minds from worries and negativity and allow positivity to flow in.
I am sure you too will find your way to experience Moksh moments 😜😎

  17. I did feel you could have really elaborated a little more on the topic ” MOKSH”
What you have said of its meaning and the experience that you have had is just a glimpse.
But its something more and achieving it is just not a play.
Otherwise we would have seen so many people on the roads having attained it.
If that was so simple every second person would have grabbed it.
Nothing like eternal bliss as you have said.
Very soon the world shall be empty of people and creatures; for they would attain MOKSH.
Very nice place, I did envy you for that is near your town.
    Good Pics.
I can only say you are on the Path.
Do read my latest Quote “In the Journey”
And please do not mistake me for the candid comment.
    Love to You.

    Excellent photographs all along.
    More is expected of you.
Moksha is some thing everyone wants and should be trying for.
I will tell you about three friends who got fed up with this noisy world.
They went to three high peaks in the Himalayas and sat there for one year.
After 1 year the first friend said,”It is nice and quiet here.”
After another year 2nd said,”Yes, it is.”
After another year 3rd said,” If you are going to make noise, I will go back.”

I think they enjoyed MOKSHA on this earth.

  19. Hi Dilip,

Lovely pictures and I remain curious about the location.

In your view is Moksh a journey or a destination? As is commonly believed, is Moksh linked to meditation? From your personal experience could you say that the Moksh ‘Way of being’ has a positive effect on one’s effectiveness?

Hi Shakti good to hear from you. The Moksh is a farm retreat place located short o Pawna Dam about midway between Pune Mumbai. The place is let out by the owner to groups for self development programs such as Art of Living etc.
My knowledge on its exact meaning is derived from the wiki only and frankly I am just a beginner in meditative practices.
However notwithstanding the above my take on Moksh is that every moment we feel peaceful and joyous is a Moksh moment. πŸ™‚
      Cheers ans best regards
