Dear friends,
We often tend to forget a known truth in our daily life. Do try to find the richness in the simple metaphor story given below. What is the lesson in this for us? 🙂
If only we could perceive the disguised Buddha in us all, we then would not judge and form superficial opinions on others.
If we only have faith and belief in the intrinsic goodness of all, life would transform into bliss.
So lets work on our Ego through meditative practices and allow our virtues to manifest and know our real Self.
Only then can we experience the divine radiance in all others!

This is a very heart warming story. Thanks for sharing. We often judge ourselves and others and cause sadness and misery and then wonder what went wrong. Buddha teaches us to be aware and mindful and helps us in the transformation as experienced by the Abbott and his monastery.

Truth is only one; it does not change. There may be different interpretations, depending upon from which side one is looking at it. Hindus also believe there is one god or one Truth but many people think they have several gods/goddesses.

Oh yes sir truth is only one and unchangeable. Every other thing is changeable and impermanent. Even if we believe in Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva and Rama they all represent One entity the ultimate truth.

Dear Friends, It is true that Buddha is within all of us since the beginning of time and shall remain with us till the end. We cannot see him or experience His presence because we have turned our face away from Him and got entangled in the toys and joys of this world of objects and beings. All that need to be done is to about turn our face and face Him squarely. We have to look inwards to see Him!
This reminds me of a story in Hindu Scriptures; It is long. However gist is that there are two birds sitting on a tree in this city of nine gates (Meaning human body), one is eating fruits of the tree and the other is just watching! Conclusion is that our soul and cosmic soul are always together and God is always watching our actions, noting them down and distributing Fruit accordingly.

I haven’t been blogging for the past month. I returned today; and received this same message twice – although the other one wasn’t the same story. If we do not find peace within.. then it will not reflect back in our outer world…

Truly said- the Buddha is within all of us. Therefore, blame the Sin, not the Sinner. Buddha named the greatest murderer “Ahinsak” when the latter fell at His feet and got converted.

Love to you. I feel a great sense of solidarity with you.. I am convinced that the Spirit is one and we have so few words to describe this one-ness so we fight for our own vision .. but the Spirit of all things is Love. So people of love know this Spirit.. whatever their beliefs… I know Christ is God’s son. And I know my Atheist friends who have this love will know this love because they love..Anyway thanks you so much for your recognition and respect!

We and the many like us are the future.. not in the sense that multiple of others are not also part of it but in the pivotal sense that we are the joiners the con-joiners, the communicants, we are those who enable the love of the Spirit to entwine the world and its disparities. I am privileged and pleased to know you . I am in in the midst of communion and the flow of the Great Spirit. In my tradition they call the Spirit God the Father but I prefer the name – The Great Spirit as the North American Indians know Him or simply in Scots The Big Yin! Whilst I know Yeshua, called Jesus,to be his preaordained Son I also know the Buddha was his Harbinger. But how do we say such things to our hardened seasoned adherents of ‘Truth? Hard indeed but necessary…! Blessings John

It is not easy to communicate this philosophy to the seasoned adherents. Perhaps subtle attempts could be a possible option.

You are right! But also there is another way The Path of Action. My memory of the wonder of the Gita which I read over forty years ago was..Just that! Arjuna had to act and not philosophise or prevaricate. In the Book of Samuel Jonathan the son of Saul had exactly such a choice. While the king his father sat under the Pomagranite tree with the great warriors the sallow youth simply went to the enemy and hailed them inviting battle. The Spirit said to him if they come down refuse battle if they invite you up accept battle. They invited him to fight and he slayed twenty. No one could believe it. People wait for God’s word and eat their lives unto death. But those who act find the light and truth in the wisdom of God’s word in action – so long as they ask and cry to him for guidance amidst and preempting action. I am fighting to release addicts from the snares of the dealers. It is absolutely incredible! Blessings! John

What about people indulging in wrong acts of omission or commission? Are they intrinsically good as well? YES! They are intrinsically good, but they have strayed and can be corrected.
Moral: I must believe in every person’s intrinsic goodness, but look out for deviations. When I see deviations, I must help the person to correct himself/herself. (The person could be somebody else or it could be me.)

A great response and indeed what you say is very true. Wisdom of the Sufi, Saints and the Enlightened Beings is difficult for us to relate while dealing with the con men of the real world.
You are right we surely must not be gullible and fall prey to tricksters. In such cases I’d rely on the wisdom of the Mahatma ~ “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”.
