clouds 3 002

Hi folks its been quite sometime since I blogged. We went through a fiercely hot summer with temperatures rising  to 114 degree F (46 C). Whenever I visited my herb farm all the farmers had prepared their fields waiting expectantly and anxiously for the first indication of rain – more so because the last three years we had little rain. Even city folk were concerned as our drinking water dams and reservoir levels were getting dangerously low.Camera 7 june 2013 021

But since the day before rain bearing clouds started a dark and massive build-up and the the daylight faded away as if in a respectful welcome to the mighty clouds.

And since then heavy rains have lashed in most parts of the country quenching the thirst of the dry fields.

Even dark clouds do bring joy 🙂

Seeing the rapid build up of the dark clouds did remind me too of the Creator.

And the devastation that happened in North India was also a grim reminder that when we wrongly tamper with God’s creation He does not approve 😦

      Regards!

Evocative shots. We could do with some borrowed showers Dilip. May wasn’t as bad as it has been in the past couple of days – sweltering and muggy. Possibly the effect of cloud build up over the West coast.

When there are dark clouds in the sky, I always miss those days when schools were about to start, that smell of new books, excitement to meet school friends after a long time and today when I saw this post I just remembered one hindi song.. “Kaale Kaale Badal Jab Bhi Chayenge.. Ye Din Pyare Pyare Yaad Aayenge..”

Yes, only they have a silver lining.
We in Pune were waiting for the rains; reading weather reports;hoping for timely rains to tide over the water situation.
And lo,there was thunder, rain and I for one felt I was experiencing Amir khan’s LAGAN.
No doubt that our farmers will also share your joy.

Hi buddy how beautifully you express your feelings when the first few showers came down with great ferocity. Yes Lagaan is a perfect example.

Thanks Suhas for your kind response 🙂

  12. A cynic’s reaction would have been negative, had he/she seen dark clouds. But Hurrah! it’s an optimist’s view projected by you, Dilip. A spiritually alive individual would always look upon nature’s occurrence as boding well; the positiveness stemming from the Faith in the Almighty! Which plainly boils down to our Attitude. Thus, It’s our Attitude that is responsible for our Altitude of Success!!

I’m glad you’re getting some much-needed rain. In Southern Ontario, and a lot of the North East US,it seems we’ve had rain every few days for the past couple of months.

So no fierce summers in your part of the world. That’s nice. Our summers are tough but the heat is good for the agricultural fields as they make them more productive.

      Cheers Binky.

Of course they do. Dark clouds are dark only because it is carrying such a heavy load of fresh water for the thirsty land.
Rain sometimes is inconvenient. But it is always welcome. It brings freshness with it.
    And it passes by quickly.
We are having raining days over in the Maldives too
