‘God places the heaviest burden on those who can carry its weight’ ~ Reggie White

Today the 15th of August on the occasion of India’s 65th Independence Day I pay my humble tributes to young Rajesh Mehta.  His dedication to his profession and his exemplary sacrifice in the line of duty is an epitome of courage. What inspires me most is in spite of his extreme mental and physical hardship Rajesh continues to smile and serve.

Students of leading management Institutes in Pune come in groups to pay their regards to Rajesh and in the process take home with them his wonderful spirit and positive energy. I guess there can be no higher and better example of ‘employee engagement’. Perhaps Corporate and MBA educators will wonder what makes an organizations build in their very DNA such exemplary leadership and commitment.

Last year on this day I saluted Major Rajesh for what he is. Please do read the narration – https://dilipnaidu.wordpress.com/2011/08/15/leadership-is-courage-and-commitment-a-tribute/

P.S. My friend Biswadip has included a beautiful video below in his comment! I feel I must share it with you all –

  19. Dear Sir

Wishing a very Happy Independence Day!!

In India, some people think it is just a holiday. They never think how many people sacrifice their lifes for this Independence and still sacrificing on borders, long from their families to save our families.

Some people say, hume India ne aaj tak diya kya?? unko yeh nhi maloom.. jab hum foreign country jaate hai toh hamare passport par REPUBLIC OF INDIA likha hota hai.. when we go there and get the citizen of that country still we knows as Indians not American or Britisher.

I think we have to learn patriotism from US or any foreign country, any of his citizen never listen any negative word for his country.

On this eve, I salute to Indian Defence Services (ARMY, NAVY & AIR FORCE)

    JAI HIND!!

Thank you for enlightening us with Major Rajesh’s story. I wish we appreciated our brave soldiers more and provided them with the very best. When I was living in Bangalore for a few years, I had colleagues who were army children. They used to speak about the army school, which though taught them a lot of values, didn’t have the best of facilities. This itself was so sad. I mean, which father does not want to give his kid the very best?
    Belated Independence Day, Dilip Sir.

      Dear Lubna,

What a lovely response you have been my source of inspiration when I started blogging as a novice.

Its true the facilities in some Army schools do lack but since the past few years there is a sea change with relentless efforts by the Army. I say from my own experience of setting up a full fledged top quality engineering college – The AIT in Pune.

      Thanks for the greetings.
