Dilip, thanks for the lovely reminder that we should not overthink things and be like a child again. When I was 5, I got my first Bible and my sister told me I could WRITE in the back of it on the note pages. I couldn’t write at that time, so I had my sister write for me the most important thing I could think of writing: “I love everyone in the whole wide world.” If only we could all be like little children, certainly the world would be a happier place.

And yes! There are times when it is good to see things just in black and white. The ability to see the myriad shades of grey with the ‘meddling intellect’ can spoil the sense of wonderment.

Ha ha ha……………. Lets be childlike. what a wonderful thought. Children at 6 are in bliss all the time unless elders interfere. All children are so beautiful and full of fun. Innocence is the most precious thing because it is only to the innocent heart that all that is valuable can happen. To the cunning nothing happens. forgiveness is so easy for children at 6 or so. next moment they play as usual as if nothing has happened. Life is full of juice at that age. Dear Brig. Naidu,
I would like to start my comment with the teaching of CHRIST. I always inspired by his words during my Sunday School Class (the classes organized by the local church for learning the Scripture) in my childhood.
Jesus Christ said to his disciples, “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3)
The above scripture is eye-catching and so much relevant in today’s world. The vision of Christ was to bring GOD’s Kingdom on the earth. Now, whosoever; wants to be a part of GOD’s kingdom has to be a child. It means one has to be a humble by heart. Children really aren’t conscious of what other people think of them. They just follow their ways. In my point of view, this is the biggest strength of them.
Other powerful tools of “Childlikeness” are Happiness and Innocence, which help them to be imaginative and curious. It only happens since they are not concerned about productivity, money, quality etc. Children just play and lost themselves in game. Can we be like them?
I personally believe that to be like a child is not an easy job. After engaging myself in “Light House” Project (which is being run among the needy children), I came to know about their Psychology. I simply observe them; how they play, how they live, how they talk, how they ask questions etc. I try to be like a child with them. As a beginner, I found it hard but gradually it has molded me with a new arena of my life.
In the time of cut-throat competition most of us have lost the spirit of “Childlikeness”. May of us say, “Be mature, do not behave like a child.” We compel our child to grow up soon. So, we try to shape them as we want to see them or the world wants to see them. We should stop making them our own piece of clay. Let there be freedom!
In addition; Jesus Christ said to his disciples, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14). At the end of our lives, we may not take anything with us even if we may have won the world.
Let’s follow this incalculable teaching of Christ & try to be like a child. It seems, B2B (Back to Basics).

Every day of adult life is touched by the memories of childhood experiences….When we were child we always had a feeling to grow up fast but when we become 30 we try to peep back to our past and say kaash main hamesha ke liye baccha hi rehta….
Our greatest adult fears were created by childhood memories. Our greatest adult anxieties were produced by childhood memories. Our most negative adult views of ourselves are the product of childhood memories.
Our most important adult goals have their roots in childhood memories. Our most powerful adult drives have their roots in childhood memories. Our adult attitudes, adult perspectives, adult expectations, and adult view of life are all powerfully influenced by our childhood experiences and memories……..
Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s seasons. ………Lets be a child again….. 😛

There is a very famous short story of Rabindranath Tagore called “Ichhapuran”
(Wish Fulfillment).The story depicts that the bodies of a naughty boy and his father get swapped and they discover what it’s like to be in the other person’s shoes.Also based on the same story a film made in 1969-directed by one of the greatest film maker of the world cinema Mr.Mrinal Sen.Though It’s in Bengali but subtitle is available for the same.I would request you and all your readers to watch the movie.I’m sure this would work as a “Time machine” for all.You all would get an opportunity to rediscover yours childhood one more time. This is so nice. I love it when people still hold deep within themselves a fragment of their childhood wonder and can take pleasure in simple things, such as sunsets, fresh breeze, trees, clouds a rainbow – I saw a rainbow today and am still smiling.
Having this childhood wonder is different from being immature, the former is a precious gift to have. Yet most people don’t seem to understand the difference. Thank you for this post, Dilip Sir.

Peach & cream
colour’s of contentment
But
colours fade

All peach and cream
had faded away.

Red, Blue, Green & Gold
