Indeed Brazil is one of the important members of the BRIC countries. BRIC an acronym that refers to the countries of Brazil, Russia, India and China, all deemed to be at a similar stage of newly advanced economic development.
The beautiful Parana River
Brazil is a diverse and beautiful country and economically prosperous. Paraná is one of the 26 states of Brazil, located in the South of the country. The beautiful Paraná River serves as its western boundary line with Paraguay.

These lovely young students and their Professor need to be applauded for their graciousness in sharing their thoughts and what they cherish most. All our good wishes to them for a joyous and exciting life ahead.

Dear Sir,
When it comes to Brazil, the outstanding thing a Ghanaian will applaud of that country is SOCCER (by the way am a Ghanaian and writing from there right now). It will be rewarding to hear from our Brazilian friends the secret behind their soccer magic.I can assure you that many many Ghanaians would love such a piece of information.
In a meantime thanks to Dilip Sir for once more widening our horizon as far as to this beautiful country BRAZIL.

Dear Sir,
It’s always good to know about the views people from other countries express about common issues like education. I specially liked Mr. Anderson’s quote : “Study enables the man”. In fact, I just came back from a brainstorming session on the issue of education, as well as public policy towards educational reform. I totally agree with Mr. Anderson that the ultimate goal of education should be to enable a person. In what ways? Let me explain.
There are a couple of aspects which are covered by the phrase “to enable a man”. First is:
1. Economic security : A person should possess the skills necessary to earn a livelihood, which should ideally be enough to sustain him/her as well as those who are dependent on them.
2. Responsibility: By education, values/ ethics should be imparted on the students, which are important to lead their lives in a respectable way in the society. Because when a particular person behaves irresponsibly, it becomes the society’s problem, rather than the family’s to which he belongs to.
3. Patriotism/ Nationalism : By patriotism or nationalism, I not only mean that a person should only be concerned about their respective country or region. An educated person should always be concerned about the world as a whole. Universal fraternity, as my dear friend Rakesh has mentioned, is a dire need of the hour. Culturally and politically, the world society is being divided by certain powerful elements, which can be opposed by a conscious and educated society.
At last I would like to thank Professor Ms. Penha Santos, and Brig. Naidu to have started such a beautiful conversation.

Vibrant waves thrill my heart when I utter this beautiful country’s name. Pedro Alvares Cabral, a Portuguese man, was the first person to discover the land of Brazil in 1500.
Amazing Brazil is all about the music, dancing, singing, playing soccer, travelling and fun. Brazil has the largest catholic population in the world. Country’s motto is “Ordem e Progresso” (Order & Progress). The culture of this land is one of the most distinct & unique. Brazil also known as “the land of Amazon” (River, which makes 60% rainforest in the country only).
It is seen that Relationship is the most integral part of the Brazilians. They are very friendly and social. They are physically expressive too. So, handshakes & hugs are the ways to greet the people.
Sao Paulo is one of the busiest cities in Brazil. One can enjoy museums, theaters and historical landmarks of this city. Rio de Janeiro is famous for “Carnival”. Rio also has crystal clean beaches, “Christ the Redeemer” (the monument), stunning Sugarloaf Mountain and Maracana Stadium. Each traveler would like to visit Salvador which nicknamed “City of Happiness”. While Brasilia (Capital city) has set political and economic image to the world.
The economy of this amazing nation rose to 2.7%. Past 20 years Brazil has become world’s largest producer of sugarcane, coffee and tropical foods. They have started drilling in the Atlantic’s deep waters to start exporting oil.
Former President and visionary leader Luiz Lnacio Lula da Silva introduced social policies to raise the economic condition of the poor’s; which also featured him in The 100 Most Influential People in the World for 2010. Dilma Rousseff is the successor of Lula and considered a strong advocate for transparency in government. By her efforts Brazil is becoming investment hub for MNCs.
Soccer is the breath of Brazilians. Roberto Carlos, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Pele are some of the great players of this game.

Feeling blissful to know about Fernando’s view of systematic approach for achieving goals. Meyre’s focus on studies with creativity teaches me that creativity is the extension of what you know. Wow! Patricia, I cent percent support your comment about receiving something new from people by giving them freedom. Anderson, studying is always noble practice and I think that’s why many countries have seen power of education. Vania & Josislaine your thoughts devote our knowledge is mind blowing. I wish all of you great future with fertility of minds. I would like to get in touch with these shining stars of Brazil, to know more about their culture & diversity.
At last, my offering to Brazil…..If Israel is Pilgrim for me then Brazil would be surely the Honeymoon Spot.

My earliest memory of Brazil is associated with the one and only Pele who I believe said famously: “I was born for soccer, just as Beethoven was born for music,”

Brazil is a synonymous of a beautiful country. Brazilian people, their cuisine, natural beauty and architecture are amongst the world’s most beautiful. In its young history, Brazil has established itself as one of the most exotic, culturally diverse nations in the modern world. The beautiful places like Iguassu Fall, Christ the Redeemer, Amazonia National Park, famous beaches: Leblon, Copacabana and Ipanema, Paraty rainforest lure people around the world.
I liked the thought of Meyre that the purpose of study should be to create and recreate new ideas. I agree with you Ferando that without systematic approach and right strategy it is difficult to achieve goals in life. You put a lovely quote Patricia— in fact we can never teach people, the best way to teach people is to make them feel important and show something which is left to do.
It’s a great thought Anderson. Me too think that education should aim to dignify the character of a person along with his earning ability. I think Vania wanted to share dedication and commitment which are truly required in student life too. Josislaine you seem to be very honest and hardworking student. Study is not easy job indeed.
Whenever I feel stressed and real hard in understanding something, I remember the beautiful line from Gothe: “Everything is difficult before they are easy”. It makes me get going.

Hello everyone!
At the outset I wish to thank Professor. Pehna Santos and Brig. Naidu for taking this initiative to bring together youth of our two lovely countries.
I was extremely touched by the gesture of friendship diaplayed by Fernando, Meyre, Patricia, Anderson, Vania and Josislaine. Thank you very much!
I feel it is very essential to build people to people contact in this era, so that universal fraternity is attained and maintained.
Frankly, when I was a child, Brazil was just a chapter in the geography text book, that told me about the coffee it produced and that it is the largest lusophone country in the world. And India being English speaking, I felt (very wrongly) had little in common, except for the beautiful state of Goa, Daman and Diu that were former Portuguese colonies.
As I grew older, I read that Pedro Alvares Cabral, the first European to discover Brazil, did so when he was on his way to India in 1500! Although our countries did not capitalize on that connection in terms, of bilateral relations, it is heartening to note that over the past decade and a half, there is a strong thrust to our cooperation, in the fields of science, space, business and cultural exchanges. We are members of two emerging groups namely the BRICS and IBSA, in our quest for building a peaceful multilateral world.
On a lighter note, I realised how similar we are, only after I mistook Giselli Monteiro, the beautiful actress in the film “Love Aaj Kal” to be an ethnic Punjabi lass!
I hope this trend of cultural exchange continues, especially the people to people contact so that the world over, peace is inspired in every heart and some day we shall all live in harmony and fraternity!

Brazil … La La La ….indeed a beautiful Country,
i loved the thoughts expressed by Fernando & Meyre, we as students need to systematically make compartments in our memory to store all subjects ,
but a very interesting fact is that if we enjoy studies and get involved with the subject,we can go deeper in the topics and then creative ideas will automatically also come to us, and that way we can attach a new dimensions to it.
Quality Education is supposed to Give the students a Cognitive Platform and builds our Foundation in order to grow and have a Successful Carrer.
Though Formal Education ends after the course, but an Effective person will always be open for Learning his Entire life….
