A friend sent me some great inspirational quotes. I picked up two of them because I felt good reading them. To me it means we all are human and not infallible at all times. Its OK to err once in a way. We just need to ‘let go’.

And the second one “Being happy doesn’t mean everything is perfect.
It means you’ve decided to see beyond the imperfections”

Cheers!

`life is very SIMPLE it is a joyful dance, it is a reward, and it is given only to those who have earned it. Now it is your right to enjoy, it will be sinful if you don!t enjoy. will be against existence if you don!t beautify it, If youleave it just as you have found it. No, leave it a little happier, a little more beautiful, a little more fragrant. Life is simple and straightforward. In life nothing whatsoever is complicated. Existence is not a puzzle, but man!s mind is very intricate and you have made a simple and straightforward thing both complicated and involved. We must preserve this fact in our heart- life is to be lived; it is not a problem to be solved. On the contrary, life is a pe\oem to be sung, a dance, a celebration in which you have to participate. Not stand apart and think about life. Dont ponder it. The current of life is continuous flow. Get into life and not stand aloof from it. if you do, your relationship with life, your roots into life will be severed to the same degree. These are the words of beloved OSHO. The whole human history uptil now has been work oriented. let it be play-oriented. Meditation gives you a new childhood, a new innocence, a new festivity. then the whole life becomes a ceremony. with warm regards. ajay.

Hi Ajay very simple yet inspiring thoughts – these words are so de-stressing ‘life is very SIMPLE it is a joyful dance’ that one needs to live them.

      Thanks friend!

  4. Are we really unhappy while living with imperfections? Then what happens to ‘happiness’, is a state of mind?

“Happiness doesn’t come from life’s perfections it comes from accepting life’s imperfections.”

  7. Let go. Simply two words. The attachment, one is trying to ‘let go’ is the real issue. How deep rooted is that attachment, will dictate the effort. To pin point, it may be the cause & solution; possibly.

You are right we find it difficult to ‘let go’ because of our attachment to material things – especially attachment to our near and dear ones!

      Thanks & regards.

I so agree with you Sir, Sometime we just need to learn to let things go. To let go is not as easy as it is to type it here. You need a courage to accept that fact and let things go.

  9. Sriram says:

    Dear Sir,

To be Perfect means to ‘bring to full development’ – as in living as the potential that is the SELF.

So obviously we are all imperfect till we realise that we are not this impermanence we identify with, but the permanent Reality.

Imperfection arises out of our not being ‘there’ – when one is not immersed in the job at hand, imperfection arises. So then is imperfection ok?

Imperfections of the physical body are what we need to be ok with (we are born with it so we hardly have a say!), but imperfections of the mind, imperfections in our actions, are NOT ok.

Being OK with imperfections of the latter kind leads us to rationalize and stop the pursuit of perfection, making us lead less than satisfactory lives.

So this quote is meant for appreciating imperfectness that cannot be changed & hence accepted with grace; but at the same time be NOT ok with imperfections we design or that we had control over.

So we need the Serenity Prayer to help us here – “Lord give me the courage to change that which i can, the fortitude to accept that which i cannot change & the wisdom to know the difference!”

So it is with imperfections as well…

So let’s actively seek imperfections of the changeable variety and attack them with gusto & zeal so that it may lead us to unfold the Self within & make us PERFECT!

    Cheers!

      Dear Sri,

Your have interpreted the quote at the highest level – the SELF. The Serenity Prayer too brings out the essence of ‘imperfection’ beautifully.

Yes I admit most of us do believe the quote to be something that relieves the burden of always trying to be perfect. I am sure you remember the saying “To err is human”!

      Thanks dear friend! Warm regards.

  10. Children have plenty-plenty of energy. At that age they do not know how to use that energy. We have therefor devised the institutions like schools, games & sports, extra curricular activities. We need to further move on to devise full courses to get trained teachers/instructors to man these institutions. These teachers/ instructors need to be the real sages to guide children. Are we still in the process of evolution at this stage.
We did evolve in the shape of gurus. They were the pillars of society. Where are they now?

Wow that’s a learned response! Children are given knowledge & stuff by teachers. But there are no inputs on the mind management. How to handle stress and tension which they in college and life. And you are right who will teach on mind issues?

      Thanks & regards!

  11. I agree. Perfection is only an index to measure our failures, hence negative. Shun it.
Who defined ? Our elders ; to keep our actions under control. Long time back, during our childhood we were conditioned to follow laid down rules (to conform to the society). We followed these & got depressed. Now we are being told not to be perfect.

Think before conditioning your child. It will affect next generation.

Hi Roshan and welcome. I liked your interpretation especially ‘Perfection is only an index to measure our failures, hence negative’ – Shun it! 🙂

And you are so right re: children. Yes we must not push them hard to perfection in a world where there are so many variables. It does lead to too much stress. A good balance needs to be arrived at.

      Many thanks!

    Respected sir,

The quote is very good as happiness is the state of mind and we are as happy as we think we are. Moreover real happiness lies in making others happy. No man in this earth is perfect and infallible . As bible says we all are sinners but we have to overcome our mistakes on a daily basis to be a better human being.
