“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed” Mahatma Gandhi

I asked a couple of kids what was special today and they said it was Gandhi Jayanti. In our childhood too 2nd Oct was  important – a day charged with patriotic songs and hymns. Listen please to Ustad Bismillah shenai http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nfKpiGwRVo&feature=related

The Mahatma – a great Being whose message and teachings are revered throughout the world.  US  President  Barack Obama on several occasions mentions the Mahatma as his source of  inspiration. As a senator too he proudly displayed the portrait of India’s Father of the Nation in his office. He says the apostle of peace reminds him of the real message of life.

      Thank you Geetha,

Powerful quote honoring The Mahatma by Albert Einstein the philosopher – and one of the most influential and best known scientists. It’s meaning is so true in the context of what’s happening today.

Today I was wondering what Mahatma Gandhi would have thought of India and its politicians, especially those who try and sow hatred, if he were alive. I wish he was there with us today, things would have been so different.

    Namastey.
Since childhood i was confused. That 2nd Oct is two great Indian patriotic Jayanti . One is Mahatma Gandhi and another one Lal bahadur Shastri. But i feel very few people knew that today is also shastri Jayanti. Don’t you feel that it is negligence one of our great indian patriotic (Lal bahadur shastri). He also servive for our country. Don’t mind sir even in your blog also you didn’t comments in a single word for the Shastriji. And i am really proud that we are celebrate portrait of India’s Father of the Nation in 2nd oct since childhood.

      My Dear Dayanand,

With deep humility I apologise for this omission. Yes today is Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Birthday too. One of the distinguished and successful PM of India. It was he who revolutionized the Indian Agriculture sector. And gave rise to the famous slogan – Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan.

I salute and respect you Dayanand for pointing this lapse.

Thank you and do please keep in touch!
